Christophe GRENIER TestDisk for Linux 6.8
TestDisk is a powerful free data recovery software. It was primarily designed to help recover lost partitions and/or make non-booting disks bootable again when these symptoms are caused by faulty software, certain types of viruses or human error (such as accidentally deleting your Partition Table).
TestDisk has the following other editions available: TestDisk for Windows and TestDisk for Max OS X.
Latest Changes:
- TestDisk and PhotoRec will be easier to use for users working on disk or partition image: the partition table type is automaticaly detected and selected. Both utilities can now be used under GNU screen, the screen manager with VT100/ANSI terminal emulatio
- In TestDisk 6.8, HFS partition detection has been improved to avoid false positive
- TestDisk now records the potential NTFS partition location from $MFT and $MFTMirr
- Location while rebuilding NTFS boot sector
- A few bugs have been fixed in PhotoRec 6.8, .dta and .spss (statistical
- Analysis) file format support have been added and .7z, .cab, .rar and
- .tar recovery have been improved. Recovery of fragmented JPEG by brute-force
- Have been improved but as it`s very time consuming without being 100%
- Reliable, this option is not enable by default
